Our mission is to procure, manage, and develop safe, sustainable, and affordable housing to provide vulnerable individuals and families with a stable foundation for a brighter future. Through compassionate support services and tailored assistance, we aim to empower those facing hardship, foster community well-being, and promote long-term stability and independence for all.

Community Interest Company

Working together at The Serenity Initiative

We are not a registered charity – we are a Community Interest Company. We are grassroots and not bureaucratic. We rely solely on donations from goodhearted people. Gifts from our partners and also grantfunding.

However we recognise that we are answerable to our donors and sponsors and that we are responsible for how we deliver the service and support to people we help so we comply with certain statutory requirements. Everything we do is transparent. EVERYTHING. From finances, to our people, to our performance.

Our Leadership Team

We are run by a small leadership team who all share a common vision and belief:

Setting, monitoring and managing our own key performance indicators that are all centred around the safety, security and wellbeing of our clients. Understanding each client's individual needs and aspirations. Cutting down on the bureaucracy and applying lean and efficient processes – they cost time and money we don't intend to waste.

Clarity, integrity and self-determination. Ensuring all and any fundraising, sales, donations and grants go direct to source. We are volunteer-run from front line to executive.

Setting client-centred, goal-driven plans which empower them to make improvements in their own emotional, financial and practical circumstances with our guidance.

Volunteer Opportunities

We are run by a team of people who give their time freely. Whether that is helping with a fundraising initiative, organising an event or administrating the projects. We also encourage the people we help to also pour into the work we do and to get involved when they feel able.

We invite applications from highly organised people for volunteer roles. All we need are community-spirited people who are able to give us a minimum of five hours per week.
